La serie 4500 di Switch Gigabit  di ZyXEL è costituito da due apparati: ZyXEL XGS-4528F e XGS-4526. Sono switch Ethernet multilayer (L2/L3/L4), che consentono di sfruttare le velocità 10/100/1000 Mbps e 10 Gbps, ed avere performance  Enterprise-class, ottima flessibilità di impiego ed un'architettura ridondante. ZyXEL XGS-4526 offre tutte le caratteristiche e le capacità Layer-3 che lo rendono la miglior scelta per ambienti di  routing complessi ed evoluti. ZyXEL XGS-4526 fornisce 20 porte 1000Base-T, 4 porte Gigabit dual-personality  ed 1 open slot per il modulo opzionale 10 Gigabit di uplink. ZyXEL XGS-4526 è ideale per costruire una rete ad alte prestazioni in qualunque ambiente.

La serie ZyXEL XGS-4500 supporta il protocollo di routing VRRP per la gestione del fail-over in alta affidabilità. Inoltre il supporto BPS, protegge il dispositivo dai guasti interni del modulo di alimentazione, mentre l'aggregazione di link IEEE802.3ad riduce il downtime di rete, fornendo percorsi ridondati ed aggregazione di banda.
 
Network Management  e Capacità di Stacking fino a 24.
La serie ZyXEL XGS-4500 offre, agli amministratori di rete, la possibilità di scegliere di configurare l’apparato via Web o tramite CLI (Command Line Interface) in formato testo. XGS-4500  supporta l'esclusiva tecnologia  iStacking™,  per la gestione  centralizzata fino a 24 switch. Questo non solo riduce notevolmente i costi operativi, ma offre anche la una più semplice e veloce manutenzione del dispositivo.
